Yes - I expected details about the events surrounding The Station fire, but the book is so much more than that. The book started out dark and a little depressing, but ended on an up note. It really gets into the real reasons behind the revolution and how the colonists tried to solve things with England peacefully, but the King often would not even read their correspondences. The 15 papers presented together with three invited papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 25 submissions. The only thing with this book which did bother me was the inconsistency with Baileys character from the last book. It was a wild night and I drank way too much. This is the problem when fiction writers write a non-fiction book - they tend to write as many words as possible (this author even mentions somewhere in the middle that she 'has' to write 40,000 more words). ("Atonement" and "The Corrections" are the first twowhich come to mind that I've read more than once). There are too many inconsistencies the "facts" and in the time lines for it to be true.
